Temperature: 10°C to 20°C
Key Features:
Melting snow from winter marks the beginning of this season.
Blooming of flowers like tulips, cherry blossoms, almond, and apple blossoms.
Fresh greenery returns to the valleys.
The famous Tulip Garden in Srinagar opens (late March to April).
Ideal time for sightseeing, photography, and nature lovers.
Temperature: 15°C to 30°C
Key Features:
Warm days and cool nights, rarely too hot due to Kashmir’s elevation.
Peak tourist season – people flock to places like Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg.
Perfect time for Shikara rides on Dal Lake, trekking, and camping.
Lush green meadows and forests – the countryside is vibrant and full of life.
Temperature: 9°C to 20°C
Key Features:
Also known locally as "Harud".
Leaves of Chinar trees turn golden, red, and copper – iconic and scenic.
Harvest season for apples, walnuts, and saffron.
Clear skies and crisp air; perfect for photography and sightseeing.
Less crowded compared to summer but equally beautiful.
Temperature: -2°C to 12°C (can drop to -10°C or lower in higher altitudes)
Key Features:
Snowfall in places like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam – turns Kashmir into a winter wonderland.
Famous for skiing and snowboarding in Gulmarg.
Dal Lake partially freezes – houseboats and Shikara rides are still available.
Lower tourist footfall except in ski resorts.
Late November & Early March are transitional, sometimes with mixed weather (frosty mornings and warming afternoons).
